We are currently seeking a qualified Pipeyard Forklift Operator to join our Odessa-based team. This role is ideal for a responsible and experienced operator who thrives in a dynamic yard environment and is committed to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
Position Overview
As a Pipeyard Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of tubular goods using an 8-ton articulating front-end forklift. You will load and unload pipe, rods and other materials from flatbed trailers, properly store pipe on racks, move pipe, rods and other materials around the yard and lay out and tally pipe for outbound shipments as directed.
Work is performed per supervisor instructions with both direct and indirect supervision, often completing complex tasks. Must be a self-starter who can complete orders safely and efficiently while leading a crew.
Key Responsibilities

Operate an articulating 8-ton front-end forklift to load and unload pipe.

Safely transport and rack tubular goods and other materials in the pipe yard.

Lay out and tally pipe, bundle rods and gather accessories for outbound shipments.

Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and Dale Meyer safety policies.

Be a selfless individual with a team first mindset, support team operations and assist in other yard duties when needed.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for nights and weekends as required.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum of 2 years operating a front-end articulating forklift.

Current forklift certification preferred; re-certification provided upon hire.

Must be 25 years of age or older and hold a valid DRIVERS LICENSE. ID cards are not accepted.

Clean MVR: No DWI/DUI convictions in the past 5 years; no reckless driving or excessive speeding violations.

Must pass a tubular pipe handling skills test.

Ability to read, write, and perform basic and intermediate math.

Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Ability to meet company, state, and insurance driving requirements.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs occasionally.

Must be able to walk on uneven ground and work in a fast-paced environment.
